AN EVENING WITH ANDREW ROBERTS, BARON ROBERTS OF BELGRAVIA

IN THE COMPANY OF TOM TUGENDHAT

Andrew Roberts is a prodigious author and social historian. He has given us insights in to the life and times of some of the most fascinating people in history. These include Napoleon, Wellington, Hitler and Winston Churchill. Through his writing he has transported us through the ages of empire and the history of warfare in a way that explains them in the context of the times that he brings back to life in his books.

In Andrew’s biography of Winston Churchill called “Walking with Destiny” gives a really detailed look at all aspects of Winston’s fascinating life. For those who know of Winston’s series called “History of the English Speaking Peoples” then he is picking up that legacy from 1900 to present time. 

This gives us the chance to hear from someone who clearly understands the real politic of history as it happens. This means that Andrew is able to understand current affairs and social change in a way that we will be able to relate to.

Please join us for a fascinating evening where Tom Tugendhat will question Andrew for us and then he will field those questions you are itching to ask.

The event will take place on Thursday 9th May from 19:00 at the Medway Hall, Angel Centre, Tonbridge. Tickets are £20 each and include a welcome drink. There will also be an opportunity to purchase his books.

An Evening with Esther McVey, Minister of State without Portfolio

 

On Thursday 9th May, Maidstone and Malling welcome Esther McVey to Maidstone and Malling. 

We will be meeting at a location in Marden. The address will be shared in due course. 

The event will start at 7pm. 

There will be a welcome drink, followed by Fish and Chips. There will also be a raffle. 

Ticket price: £20, and there will be a cash bar as well.
